Matthieu, dedicated advisor and accomplished entrepreneur in China
Matthieu David graduated from the ESSEC Business School in France, Matthieu David discovered the world of Chinese business during his training at the prestigious Peking University. He learned there the specificities of the Chinese market and Mandarin language he now speaks fluently, in addition to English and French.
Subsequently, Matthieu David has worked in many companies in finance and consulting, and later embarked on the entrepreneurial adventure by becoming the General Manager of two start-ups in Paris, Hong Kong, and China in 2008. His first business, called D’Elysee which was selling gift boxes containing coupons to get access to leisure activities in China, was sold to a significant MNC subsidiary in China two years after its start.
Having understood the strong potential of the Chinese market, Matthieu David then decided to create a competitive consulting company with an innovative model, Daxue Consulting, the world-class China-focused market research firm.
Entrepreneurship, the story of Matthieu's life
As an influential entrepreneur in China, Matthieu David is also involved in many associations and entrepreneurship circles. He truly believes that entrepreneurship is not just a job but a state of mind. That is why today he is a member of various associations such as Croissance Plus, EO (Entrepreneur Organization), CJD, several chambers of commerce and professional associations in France and China.
Most of these associations aim to create a network of experienced entrepreneurs ready to help, meet, advise, and inspire future entrepreneurs.
Today he is the co-president of China Essec Alumni where he coaches students and graduates and provides consistent updates on the Chinese market and on how to build a successful business in China.
